HHT plate-and-frame filter press for slurry separation
HHT
An HHT filter press separates slurry into filter cake and filtrate by pressure filtration through cloth. Match the press to slurry flow, solids concentration and dry-solids duty; filter area, chamber volume and cycle requirements are separate selection quantities.

What does an HHT plate-and-frame filter press separate?
A slurry pump feeds pressurised slurry into chambers formed by clamped filter plates. Liquid passes through filter cloth, while retained solids build into filter cake. Plate release and cake discharge complete a batch before the next cycle.
In the catalogue tailings circuit, the filter press is on the fine-slurry branch. Cyclone recovery and a dewatering screen handle the recovered-sand route. These are different duties, so the filter press is not a direct substitute for the entire fine-sand recovery system.

Does filter-press capacity mean slurry flow or dry solids?
The capacity table uses t/h of dry solids. It is not a liquid-flow rating in m³/h. Provide the incoming slurry flow and solids concentration as separate selection inputs, together with the required dry-solids duty.
For HHT400-1500A, the catalogue lists 400 m² filter area, 5.6 m³ chamber volume and 13–15 t/h dry-solids reference capacity. Filter area, chamber volume and a solids rate describe different quantities; keep their units when comparing models.
The table labels 30–60 min as plate-shifting time. It is not stated here as a complete filtration-cycle duration.
| Model | Filter area (m²) | Chamber volume (m³) | Dry-solids capacity (t/h) |
|---|---|---|---|
| HHT400-1500A | 400 | 5.6 | 13-15 |

What should be confirmed before specifying the press?
The source has conflicting cake-moisture figures and an unresolved HHT200-1250A throughput entry. Those fields remain “To confirm” in the reviewed specification table. Confirm the intended cake result and capacity for the actual slurry and configuration.
- Slurry material, fine-particle distribution, incoming flow and solids concentration.
- Required dry-solids processing rate, cake handling and return-water quality.
- Plate configuration, feed and squeezing pressures, plus the agreed scope for automatic plate shifting and cloth washing.
